• In terms of appearance Shuji looks like Billy from Beyblade.
• Shuji was the first character to use a Double Ability, albeit before the term "Double Ability" was established.
• Shuji never had any Aquos Bakugan, but it was confirmed that he has a few Aquos Bakugan offscreen.
• Strangely, Shuji had Pyrus Bakugan in the DS version of the video game, but it was Ventus in all other versions.
