Origin of the Species Part 2 is the second segment of the first episode of Bakugan Battle Planet. It first aired in the United States on Cartoon Network on December 23, 2018.

Summary[]
Winning the Bakugan Battle establishes the Awesome Ones as heroes and Bakugan Brawlers.
Plot[]
While in a park, Drago and Dan are preparing for a battle against Lia, Wynton and Lightning. Lia unleashes Gorthion, Wynton Trox and Lightning Howlkor. They are causing a commotion, which looks like a battle, but in fact Lia records a video. After that the AO throw hexagonal tiles called BakuCores, which give Bakugan power and can have different effects as Dan and the others have found out. Lia thinks they should make known the BakuCores and Bakugan to the masses, by posting their discoveries online. Seemingly they weren't the only children who found Bakugan at night. However, adults can't open them. With sharing their videos, the AO want to build a community.
After that the battle with Magnus from the previous episode is continued. Nillious, who currently has the upper hand thanks to its Pact of Darkness and Shadow Breath attacks, makes Dtago losing a lot of power. Dan runs to grab a BakuCore with Magnus beginning to stop him with Nillious. Suddenly the other AO and their Bakugan show up, with Lia using Pegatrix this time. Lia interrogates Magnus with him getting infuriated and Wynton pulling her back and ask her to not bother Magnus anymore. Magnus unleashes Fangzor and Webam to make up for his disadvantage, with now three against four Bakugan, instead of one against four. Wynton uses Sonic Uproar and not only hits Webam, but accidentally also Lia's Pegatrix. Lightning barks at Howlkor, while it is attacking Fangzor. Meanwhile, Dan struggles to get a BakuCore to Drago, due to the danger which comes from the fact that all Bakugan are fighting. Finally, he manages to power Drago up with the BakuCore. With using Twisting Inferno Drago seemingly defeats NilLious. At the same time, Trox and Pegatrix are attacking Webam and Howlkor attacking Fangzor, with Drago finishing the Bakugan of his rival off.
Magnus is furious due to his defeat, when everyone hears voices by a pink-haired girl, a blue-haired adult man and a green-haired boy. Enraged, Magnus claims he'll "crush them all". Dan asks them whether they are friends with Magnus, with them replying that they are in a way. It turns out, that they are here to check the AO out, as they want to scout brawlers too see whether they are strong enough to join them. Dan asks why they should join, with Magnus saying that they didn't "pass". Angered, Dan answers that he and his friends have beaten him fair and square. Magnus warns them that the Bakugan's existence is a threat and that they don't understand the power they have in them and that they should stop posting videos. Magnus and his friends leave, with Dan telling in front of the camera to keep an eye on the next video from the Awesome Ones. There are now even more individuals who watch the videos, Magnus and his friends and further people under them a blonde-haired kid and a mysterious grey-haired man.
