I'll see you soon, my sweet daughter.
Nurzak, Redemption

Nurzak (ナザック, Nazakku?) is a Gundalian and the leading Subterra Brawler for the Twelve Orders. His Guardian Bakugan is Subterra Sabator and uses Chompixx as his Bakugan Battle Gear. As of Bakugan: Mechtanium Surge, he is the Prime Minister of Gundalia. He was the follower and adviser of Barodius' Father. After he was betrayed by Barodius in a atempt to save Gundalia from his trinary, Nurzak and Mason Brown survived with the help of Dragonoid Colossus, and soon after, he and Mason join the Battle Brawlers in the fight against Barodius.

Description[]

Nurzak is a scholarly and wise individual. Although he is the oldest member of the Twelve Orders, he has the most physical energy. Emperor Barodius trusts Nurzak and he has many followers. He is the number one officer of the Twelve Orders and is very good at analyzing the opponent, planning strategy and evaluating the situation. He was serving the Gundalians since the reign of Barodius' father, and agrees that the Sacred Orb should not be violated, leading to him distrusting Barodius' dark intentions.

Personality[]

As an Elder of Gundalia and an attendant for the previous emperor, Nurzak shows great wisdom and reason. Unlike the rest of the Twelve Orders, he believes in peace and disapproves of Barodius' plans to acquire the power of the Sacred Orb. He also respects the Neathians, particularly Fabia and Serena Sheen. He also cares about his subordinates, calling out Stoica and Kazarina for disposing another subordinates and wasn't fooled by their lies.

Long ago, Nurzak preferred being on the front lines and was rather reckless. Because of this, and his lack of preparation, all the soldiers under his command, including his daughter, were killed.

Over the years, Nurzak grew to hate Barodius as he disapproves of his rule of Gundalia and the way he treats their people and for always speaking ill of his father. When Barodius went too far, Nurzak finally had enough of his tyranny and sees he is nothing but a evil, heartless monster bent on destroying entire worlds just to get his way and joins the Brawlers and Neathians to defeat him and restore peace to the universe.

Despite believing in peace, he is no pushover; he is willing to take the situation into his own hands if he believes that there is no way around it. While he tries to use persuasion and reason before he takes action, like when he tries to persuade Barodius against trying to acquire the Sacred Orb and when he warns Kazarina about Barodius' desires, he does not have infinite patience and will give up on them if he sees that they truly will not change their ways. He has a good relationship with his Guardian Bakugan, Sabator, and has the respect and trust of many other Gundalians, particularly those who survived the Neathian-Gundalian War.

After he became the new Prime Minister of Gundalia, he was respected by his subordinates and even commander Ren Krawler. After Mag Mel was thrown out of Gundalia, he thanks the Battle Brawlers for their help.

Bakugan: Gundalian Invaders[]

Nurzak first appeared in Revelation, when the Twelve Orders were discussing about the powerful Bakugan (Helix Dragonoid) who created the explosion (the battle between Ren and Dan). When Gill asked him what he found out during his search. He told Barodius that there is this virtual game on Earth, known as Bakugan Interspace, and that the explosion affected their planet, Gundalia.

He appeared again in Hostile Takeover, this time he told Emperor Barodius that they were close to getting The Element and when Barodius told Ren to bring him more battlers from Earth.

In Escape From Darkness, He is shown with the other Twelve orders listing as Airzel tells Barodius that the earth kids have helped the Gundalian Solders a lot. Kazarina then says that they should start to break through the first shield. Barodius says that to get such power they will have to take the Element.

In The Sacred Orb, He doesn't insult the Gundalian Agents (except Sid) for their failure to bring the Bralwers to their side unlike his team. Instead, he lets them know that the fight will be harder with the Brawlers on the Neathian side. he used Sabator to brawl against the Neathian defenses alongside the other Twelve orders and brainwashed kids. He beats them all due to his power. When Jake Vallory appeared he challenged Nurzak to a fight. When Sabator was brawling he was surprised to see Sabator so evenly matched with Coredem and knew this was bad. He was later sent back to Gundalia along with the other Gundalians due to the Sacred Orb's energy.

As said by Captain Elright in Decoy Unit while introducing the Twelve Orders to the brawlers, Nurzak has been serving the Twelve Orders since the reign of the previous Emperor, Barodius's father.

At the end of Curtain Call, Nurzak calls out Stoica and Kazarina's treachery and lying, having blamed their failures on Jesse Glenn.

In The Secret of the Orb,he was sent on a mission with Kazarina to find the second shield. They both went in separate ships and told Sabator about the scared orb and why it should be feared while Ren Krawler listened to him. When Mason Brown escaped from Kazarina he told her that he would get him back. Nurzak and Ren headed to Neathia to find Mason after he escaped. Nurzak and Ren were in battle with Fabia and Marucho after running into them. Fabia and Nurzak sit out the first round due to Marucho wanting to beat Ren on his own. After Ren loses Nurzak joins in and proves to be a handful for Fabia and Marucho to battle. All four of them pulled out their battle gear to end it. However, in the middle of the battle the Sacred Orb sent out a violent dimensional twister and he and Ren were forced to retreat. Later, he and Kazarina decide to leave Emperor Barodius declaring they do not like him and thus they become partners in crime.

In Partners 'Til the End, Zenet Surrow disguised herself as Nurzak and discovered that he and Kazarina were plotting to overthrow Barodius. She reports it to Gill he is impressed with this discovery then betrays her as Gill has no more use for Zenet.

In Divide and Conquer, Nurzak and Kazarina prepared to betray Emperor Barodius and take over Gundalia, with Nurzak sending a message to Neathia to meet for a peace treaty. He runs into Ren asking him what he was doing around here. Nurzak tells Ren that the future of Gundalia will be better than they imagined. He then meets Barodius and argues over the views of Barodius' Father who respected and feared the Sacred Orb's power, as does Nurzak, who offers Barodius a chance to call off the war on Neathia, but he refuses, calling his father nothing more than a superstitious old fool. Nurzak has finally had enough of Barodius' tyranny and the way he always treated his father and not caring about him at all. He is then ambushed by Barodius at the last second, and Kazarina reveals herself as a loyal spy for him. He and Barodius brawl, and despite winning in the first round with a combination of the Gate Card Silent Stalker and Sabator's Level 3 Class Battle Gear Ability, he was outmatched and presumably killed by Dharak.

In Mobile Assault, Kazarina insults Nurzak by calling him an old fool and says that her and the rest of the Twelve orders will all serve Barodious.

In Sid Returns, he is shown in a flashback telling Ren the future will be better than they imagined.

In Genesis, it was revealed that he was not dead, but was instead sent to a space between dimensions. He and Mason Brown observed the battle between Drago and Dragonoid Colossus telling Dan that he must beat him to get Dragonoid Colossus to cooperate. After the battle, Dan Kuso decided to take them back with him to Neathia and they joined the Brawlers. Nurzak explained his ordeal with Barodius and pledged his loyalty to Neathia and the Sacred Orb saying he has always feared the power of the orb. Together, they all went to Gundalia to free Jake from Kazarina.

In Infiltrated, He tells the group that Ren's team is in Kazaria's lab and being forced to endure terrible things. After arriving to Gundalia he, Ren, Mason and Fabia split off from the rest of the Brawlers to find and rescue Lena, Jesse, and Zenet. Fabia then tells him and Mason that she might not trust them now but is still willing to give them a chance thanks to what Dan told her.

In True Evolution, his group decides to split into two smaller groups to attack Kazarina's lab. He and Fabia form one of the groups, but are ambushed by Kazarina and Stoica before they get there. Stoica figures out that Nurzak and Fabia are allies now causing Nurzak to mock him.

In Redemption, he and Fabia battled Kazarina and Stoica. At some point during the fight, they fall into a hole created by Lumagrowl and Lythirus's combined Battle Gear Abilities. Nurzak then tells Fabia the story of a friend of his who always wanted to be in front fighting rather than strategizing in the back. Because of his attitude, the troops he led, his own daughter included, were killed in battle, saying Fabia reminds him of her. Stoica and Kazarina discover them, and another battle ensues, during which Kazarina reveals she has hypnotized Lena, Zenet and Jesse to aid them in the battle. Stoica then floods the area with Death End Merman, forcing Kazarina, Jesse, Lena and Zenet to retreat. Fabia is nearly carried away by the water, but Nurzak manages to save her, though he and Sabator are carried away. It is then revealed that the story Nurzak told was actually about himself. While being carried away by the current, he has a vision of his daughter, Floria, who bears a resemblance to Fabia. Aranaut searches for Nurzak and Sabator but he is unsuccessful.

In Final Strike Nurzak appears in a flashback as Mason tells Fabia that she should help him find Nurzak.

In Gundalian Showdown, he is proven to still be alive when he returns with Mason just as they disrupt the battle between Fabia and Kazarina.

In Broken Spell, he helps Fabia fight Kazarina by having Sabator take out Impalaton's alongside Mason. When Lumagrowl rebels against Kazarina and starts fighting by himself, Nurzak and Kazarina start to fight each other with sabers. He knocks Kazarina's weapon out of her hand and pursues her only to find her dead. He then carries her back outside, and Lumagrowl walks off with her body.

In Code Eve, he, Mason and Fabia head off to his Ship. Gill tries to stop them from getting there causing Mason and Fabia to fight him. The two retreat from Gill and returned to Neathia in a Gundalian Ship. He reunites with the Gundalian Agents. He later attacks Emperor Barodius only to have Sabator shot out of the sky by Lythirus's Acid Bubble, after which he falls into a chasm.

In Destiny Revealed, he is shown to be still alive and arrives alongside the Castle Knights after Dan and Barodius's battle. He mocks Barodius for being unable to accept his defeat and still trying to take the Orb. Barodius and Dharak are then presumably destroyed by the Orb's immense power. He and the rest of the Gundalians then form an alliance with Neathia and return to Gundalia to form a new government.

Bakugan: Mechtanium Surge[]

In Gundalia Under Fire, he was seen talking to the Battle Brawlers about how and when Mag Mel, Razenoid and the Chaos Bakugan attacked. It is also revealed that Nurzak is the first ever Prime Minister of Gundalia.

In Unlocking the Gate, Nurzak was seen talking to Fabia about the invading Chaos Bakugan and how they might invade Neathia next if they are able to take Gundalia down. Near the end of the episode, Nurzak and Fabia are happy that Mag Mel and Razenoid are finally defeated.

In True Colours, he and Fabia thanked the Brawlers for their work against Mag Mel and bid farewell to them. He told the Brawlers to never hesitate to ask for help.

Trivia[]

  • He had a daughter named Floria. In episode 32, while he is drowning, he saw a female Gundalian who resembled Fabia in his imagination.
  • He is the only Gundalian to switch sides who has never changed to a human form.
  • Nurzak and Hydron are slightly similar in that they are both Subterra brawlers who turned against their leaders and faced them alone at first. Both won the first round by using special tactics but eventually were outmatched. Finally, both joined the brawlers in the final fight against Zenoheld and Barodius, respectively. But the difference between them is Nurzak survives whereas Hydron commits suicide to kill Zenoheld as nobody wanted him.
  • Nurzak is quite skilled with wielding a Gundalian-style guandao.
  • Nurzak is the only surviving member of the Major Twelve Orders.
  • He was thought to have died at least three times. The first was when he was defeated by Barodius in Divide and Conquer, the second was when he was thought to have drowned in Redemption, and the third was when he was electrocuted by Barodius and fell into a chasm in Code Eve.
  • He resembles Worf from Star Trek: The Next Generation/Deep Space 9 as they're both good members of an evil warrior race, both lost a loved one e.g. Worf lost K'Ehleyr and Nurzak lost Floria and they both have similar head features.
  • He is also similar to Iroh from Avatar: The Last Airbender. Both are wise, older, and respected people who later turn against their own rulers' cruel regimes and ally with the other side in the war, and both lost their respective children.
  • Similar to Zenoheld a lot of his opponents insult him by calling him an old man.
  • Although they joined the Neathians near the end of the Neathian-Gundalian War him, Mason, Lena, Zenet and Jesse still battle with Gundalian cards. Though this could be because unlike Ren they were never made into official Castle Knight members.
  • He and Mason, both of whom are Subterra brawlers, joined the Battle Brawlers in Episode 29.
  • Nurzak is the only member of the Twelve orders that never battled Dan.
  • Nurzak is the only member of the Twelve orders to have had a kid being Floria.
  • It is unknown if Nurzak continued to Brawl in Mechtanium Surge as he is not shown with Sabator.

Battles[]

Although most of Nurzak has lost three Battles, he appears to be a powerful brawler as he was the only one, other than Dan Kuso, to win a round against Emperor Barodius, and he and Fabia were winning against Kazarina and Stoica until they called in Lena, Jesse, and Zenet to help them.
