Julio Santana (ジュリオ・サンタナ, Jurio Santana?) is a character in the Anime Bakugan Battle Brawlers and was the top ranked Haos brawler.
Biography[]
Anime[]
Bakugan Battle Brawlers[]
Julio is a Haos battler and his Guardian Bakugan is Haos Tentaclear. Julio was the fourth ranked Bakugan player until Masquerade defeated him. He is presumed to live somewhere in Europe. He is also shown to have a strong rivalry with Runo for being the best Haos brawler. He also sometimes gets called "Cue-Ball" by Runo.
Julio, along with other Top Brawlers in the world comes to a "party" created by Masquerade, it is there where he is sent to the Silent Core and put under the control of Naga. When Julio is under the control of Naga, he fights against Runo and Dan, and ends up losing although he sends four of their Bakugan to the Doom Dimension. After that defeat, he fights Dan, Runo and Marucho in one final battle alongside Chan Lee and Klaus von Hertzon, but loses again and is freed from Naga's control. Julio is next seen when Masquerade defeats him and sends Tentaclear, along with 2 of his other Bakugan, to the Doom Dimension off-screen.
He chooses to stall Tricloid when Naga's minions invade Earth. He reappears to help the Brawlers fight Naga's forces when he battles Hairadee alongside Komba and Shun.
Later he joins Klaus Marucho Julie and Billy to battle Centorrior and Druman along with Dan and Runo. They easily take them down. When Naga is beaten he is crying when he has to let Tentaclear go.
Bakugan Battle Brawlers: New Vestroia[]
In Duel in the Dunes, Julio briefly appears in the group picture taken back in Season 1 shown by Dan Kuso. It is presumed he was reunited with Tentaclear after the Bakugan Battle Brawlers Resistance freed the Bakugan from the Vexos.
Bakugan[]
Julio is currently ranked 9th and battles with Haos bakugan.

Trivia[]
- His appearance is somewhat similar to Sid Arkale from Bakugan: Gundalian Invaders and Ben from Bakugan: Mechtanium Surge. Even their Japanese voice actors are the same.
- Of all the five top ranking brawlers controlled by Masquerade, he is the only one who is seen setting his Doom Card upon his first battle against the Brawlers. Billy and Komba set it off-screen, while Chan and Klaus never actually set it in their first battles, which is an error.
- Julio and Volt Luster are very similar being as there both Haos Brawlers who are big and strong, as well as former antagonists to the Brawlers. Julio would join the group though while Volt is likely deceased after failing to stop Hydron.
- Komba and Julio are the only members of Masquerade's spies that do not appear in Bakugan Battle Brawlers: New Vestroia.
