Invasion of the Vestals (Japanese Version: A New Journey (新たなる旅立ち, Aratanaru tabidachi?)) is the first episode of Bakugan Battle Brawlers: New Vestroia. It aired on May 9, 2009 on English, and in the Japanese aired on March 2, 2010.
Plot[]
Three years after the Battle of Vestroia took place on Earth following Naga and the Doom Beings defeat, New Vestroia has once again become endangered. An unknown, off-dimension group of colonizers known as the Vestals lead by King Zenoheld invade New Vestroia with three devices called Dimension Controllers, which revert the Bakugan back to their ball form. Bakugan all across New Vestroia quickly become enslaved or used in battle for entertainment purposes, as the citizens of New Vestroia are unaware of the Bakugan's intelligence.
One by one, five of the original Six Fighting Bakugan that saved Vestroia are captured: Blade Tigrerra, Preyas, Hammer Gorem, Storm Skyress and Alpha Hydranoid. With only Drago remaining, who is now the embodiment of New Vestroia's Perfect Core, the Legendary Soldiers of Vestroia allow him to separate from the core, return to Earth, and seek out Dan Kuso in hopes of liberating the Bakugan. Drago & Dan re-unite on Earth, and the two depart for New Vestroia, who discover Marucho Marukura has followed them after overhearing Drago's plan to leave the others behind.
Upon arriving on New Vestroia, Dan and Drago learn of the Vestals' capturing and enslavement of Bakugan after invading New Vestroia. They are confronted by Lync Volan and Volt Luster, two members of an elite Vestal brawling group called the Vexos. As they begin to brawl, a mysterious girl named Mira Fermin arrives to assist Dan and gifts him his Gauntlet, which is required to battle on New Vestroia: the Vestals have altered the Bakugan rules so that opponent's Bakugan may be captured.
They begin brawling, and Dan quickly re-adapts to the new battling style as Drago easily defeats the two Vexos members. Lync comes to the realization that Drago is one of the Six Fighting Bakugan that saved Vestroia, as it is revealed that the Vexos' leader Prince Hydron has turned the original Six Fighting Bakugan into bronze statues as a trophy display inside the Mother Palace.
Mira recognizes Dan and Marucho as two of the original Bakugan Battle Brawlers that saved Earth and New Vestroia from Naga. She invites the duo to join the Bakugan Battle Brawlers Resistance, which they accept. Mira looks off into the sunset, relieved that there may finally be a chance to liberate the Bakugan.

Difference between the Japanese and English dub[]
- The introduction of this episode is much longer in the Japanese version, in which the narrator summarizes the whole events of Season 1. In the overseas, it only reduces to only narrating the Bakugan returning to New Vestroia.
- In the Japanese version Spectra says HEX is invincible during his fight with Baron, in the dub this is changed to saying only him and Helios are invincible.
Errors[]
- In the picture Runo has of Tigrerra, she is missing the 2 bows that was on her picture back in GAME OVER
