Don't think you're special just because you were given an Attribute Energy by the ancients!
—Helios' first words in Spectra Rises

Helios MK2 (ヘリオスMKⅡ, Heriosu MK II?) is a Cyborg Bakugan and Spectra Phantom's current Pyrus Bakugan. He unnaturally evolved from Cyborg Helios (offscreen) in the second arc of Bakugan Battle Brawlers: New Vestroia in his and Spectra's attempts to make him into the ultimate Bakugan. Sometime between New Vestroia and Bakugan: Mechtanium Surge, he evolved into Darkus Infinity Helios.

Information[]

Description[]

Helios was upgraded with new mechanical parts to try to make him the Ultimate Bakugan. As Drago noted, his evolution was not natural. In this new form, Helios is much stronger, with more highly advanced weapons. For example, he now has one fully mechanical rocket arm that detaches, and fires lasers and reveals a cannon on Helios' arm that shoots lasers too, but this feature can be only activated by activating the ability Dragon Pounce. Helios no longer had a spinning ring in his chest, it was replaced by a hidden chest laser that can be activated by the ability Ragnarok Cannon. His mechanical eye was now more advanced now, as it resembled a multi-celled lens instead of a camera lens. He also can combine with Fencer, Scraper, Spindle, Foxbat, Leefram, and Klawgor to form Maxus Helios MK2. He was later upgraded with fewer spikes and has human hands instead of claw hands. He was be equipped with Twin Destructor and Zukanator. He still hated Drago, but after losing his last battle to him he admitted that Drago is the Ultimate Bakugan.

Ball Form[]

In both the original and Bakugan Battle Gear-compatible version, Helios MK2 opened up similarly to Aluze and its hidden chest laser in ball form can be seen. In this form, it more resembled Viper Helios.

Helios MK2's ball form first appears in the anime in its original version. Its arms, with three-fingered claws, are placed on the back. The Battle Gear-compatible version of Helios MK2's toy is simply a slightly modified version of the original, whereas after he gains the ability to use Battle Gear in the anime, his ball form completely changed, giving him side wings that open from the outside instead of the inside, opening arms, and different designs on the wings.

Helios MK2's ball form is later changed in the anime. Its wings fold down to allow Twin Destructor and Zukanator to attach to him. Its arms are placed at the side of the main body instead of on the back, with human-like hands instead of claw-shaped hands in original version. The structure of the wings and some details are also changed compared with original version. Whenever he stands after being rolled a ring of fire and magma appears around him.

Bakugan Battle Brawlers: New Vestroia[]

H-MK2-2

He made his first appearance in Spectra Rises, where Helios MK2 battled Cross Dragonoid, Magma Wilda and Minx Elfin in Klaus' House in Vestal. He first fought Drago one on one with Helios telling Drago that he is now stronger than before while Drago complains that his evolution wasn't natural. Helios starts off using Defuse Quasar shooting fire blasts at Drago who counters using Superior Shield to block the attack. He then uses Chaos Power Cannon while Drago counters using Fire Reflector deflecting Helios's attack. Helios then uses Chaos Boost Cannon and fires right at Drago knocking him down. Marucho Marukura throws in Elfin to help out and she uses Chatty Clutter, but Helios counters with Dragon Pincer and fires right at her and then uses his arm to attack. Mira Fermin throw's in Wilda who uses Atlas Shield thus preventing Helios from attacking due to the power of the earth protecting them. He uses Blackout Cannon causing fire blasts to rain down on Wilda, Drago and Elfin. Wilda and Elfin use Gallows Punch and Ding Dong Ditch causing Elfin to run around Helios and attack him while Wilda rams right into Helios. Dan Kuso opens up Silent Land which ends up making his Abilities useless. Drago uses Shooting Dragon knocking him out and causing him to lose round 1. In the next round managed to defeat the last two with Chaos Boost Cannon but Drago survived, he then became Maxus Helios MK2 to battle Maxus Cross Dragonoid and ended up losing.

In All Or Nothing, Helios MK2 fought Cross Dragonoid again, because Dan wanted to know where the Vexos Motherpalace was and Spectra was the only one who knows where it is. In the first round, Helios beats up Drago, but Drago comes back by using his power. In the second round, Drago wins by telling Helios he isn't worthy to be the strongest. Drago wins the brawl and Spectra takes them to the Mother Palace.

Once in the Mother palace in BT: The Final Battle, Helios asked Spectra if he was really willing to team up with Dan to stop Zenoheld. Spectra told him that taking down Zenoheld would prevent his plans from succeeding causing Helios to tell Spectra he is ready for battle. Helios then helped Cross Dragonoid and Magma Wilda battle Farbros and Dryoid. In Round 1, Helios, Drago, and Wilda faced Dryoid. When Drago asked Helios if they were a team now, Helios told Drago that he won't attack him but that Drago should not get in his way much to Drago's displeasure. Wilda and Drago both attack Dryoid with Big Rock and Shooting Dragon which it counters using Murasame Blade and Shou - Dragonfly. Wilda uses Ares Ball only for Dryoid to use its wind to bring down his, Drago and Wilda's powers though only Wilda gets beaten. Drago shows concern for Wilda while Helios mocks his loss calling Wilda useless trash much to Drago's anger. Dryoid then uses Retsu - Lightning which shocks him and Drago. Hydron then opens Pyrus Spotting Out to subtract Drago and Helios's powers. Helios however uses Chaos Hyper Cannon and destroys Hydron's Gate Card causing Drago to be pushed back. Helios then mocks Drago telling him he should sit the battle out. Drago ignores this however and uses Shooting Dragon on Dryoid. However, Dryoid remains unaffected while Helios and Drago's power went down. Drago and Helios learn from Marucho Marukura and Shun Kazami that the mother palace has the Vexos Trap Field that allows Mechanical Bakugan to not lose. Somehow earlier, he had received an upgrade to be able to connect with Bakugan Battle Gear causing Spectra to put Twin Destructor on Helios much to the horror of Hydron. Clay Fermin knows the Battle Gear is dangerous. Drago tells Helios that his Battle Gear is incredible, causing Helios to tell Drago that he regrets not using his Battle Gear on Drago. Spectra reminds Helios that the Vexos are the foes they must beat. Helios then mutters that Drago's change to be beaten will come. Helios uses the power of his Battle Gear to beat Dryoid bragging that he could do this all day. This allows him and Drago to win the first round. In the second round, Helios MK2 and Cross Dragonoid end up fighting Farbros who takes Dryoid's place in the battle. Farbros uses Twin Horn Phaser causing him and Drago's power's to be given to Farbros. Clay Fermin sets the trap field to maximum output allowing Farbros's attacks to become stronger. Drago uses Superior Shield to prevent more of their power to be taken. Farbros uses Hyper Cell that breaks Drago's shield causing them to fall down. Helios uses Precipice Shield to save him and Drago and get more power while Farbros's power dropped. Drago thanks Helios but Helios arrogantly claims that he only saved Drago just to take him down later on. The trap field starts to take more of their power away and Farbros uses Hellion Breath and Ice Burst causing him and Drago to be frozen. However Spectra is able to put on Twin Destructor due to Helios's upper half being safe. Spectra opens Enemy Resetter allowing him to be free from Zenoheld's abilities and doubling the Twin Destructor's power. Helios then uses his Battle Gear while clamming Farbros should die. Drago uses Shooting Tornado and hits Farbros from above causing it to fall down. Clay however uses the trap field to absorb all the power on the field causing Helios and Drago's power to drop while Farbros gains power. Farbros then uses Twin Horn Pulser on Helios causing him to be beaten. He then uses Fire Spartan on Drago which beats him and gets rid of his Pyrus Attribute Energy causing them to lose the brawl.

In spite of the Battle Brawlers' efforts, the Bakugan Termination System was activated, in Exodus, Helios MK2 and Cross Dragonoid went to New Vestroia to destroy the BT System. Unfortunately, neither of their attacks worked, so Drago flew to the atmosphere with the BT System. The BT System was destroyed and Drago absorbed all the attribute energies causing Drago to evolve into Helix Dragonoid. After the destruction of the BT System, Helios then claimed that Drago kept evolving to "gain an advantage on him" Helios and Spectra left the Brawlers on New Vestroia but not before warning Drago that the next time he and Drago met that Helios would pound him into the ground.

Helios MK2 ballform

With the Vexos out the way, Helios confronted Helix Dragonoid for one last battle in Spectra's Last Stand. In the end, Helios loses, and in his broken state, he accepted Drago as the Ultimate Bakugan, abandoning his ways to be Number 1 and permanently sided with the Resistance, just as Masquerade and Alpha Hydranoid joined the Brawlers. Later on, he and Keith Fermin help Drago make his own Battle Gear: JetKor.

In Mylene's Meltdown, He is shown telling Spectra to not let Shadow bother him and saying they can take him and even calls Shadow a clown. When Spectra and Mira trap Mylene and Shadow in Bakugan Interspace, he battled against Shadow Prove's MAC Spider while Wilda brawled Macubass. Shadow opens his Gate Card Phantasm which prevents Helios from moving. MAC Spider uses Spider Cannon which causes no damage to Helios thanks to using FARBAS RX. All the damage to Helios before he gets removed. Helios then moves towards MAC Spider and the Spider uses Tarantula Needle which causes no damage. MAC Spider then uses Blaster Needle causing Helios to taunt him and ask Shadow if that was all he had. MAC Spider then traps Helios using Spider Net. Helios gets stuck in the web causing Shadow to use Mega Terror Impact to defeat Helios quickly. Unfortunately for him, this leaves MAC Spider prone to attack and Helios capitalizes, using Blackout Cannon to blast a hole through MAC Spider's frame and destroy it entirely. Helios then taunts Shadow saying MAC Spider is now gutless. He also appears to be a lot calmer now and was willing to help out Magma Wilda defeat Mylene Farrow's Macubass and saved his sister Mira Fermin from getting blasted by Macubass by using Ragnarök Cannon to block Moby Finale. Helios asks if he can finish off Macubass, Wilda says he is ready to finish Mylene off. Before backing out Helios tells Wilda to leave him in peace's which Wilda does after beating Macubass for good.

In An Heir To Spare, he escapes from Bakugan Interspace thanks to Marucho along with Mira, Keith and Magma Wilda, but Mylene and Shadow Prove get sucked by the portal and live their life in another universe.

In Ultimate Weapon, It is shown that he still maintains a serious minded fighter mentality, as shown by his annoyance at Runo and Julie's girlish antics during the party thrown by the Brawlers to celebrate him and Keith joining the Resistance. When the team all goes to bed he notices Keith not sleeping and asks him what is wrong. He tells Helios that Clay Fermin must be stopped. Helios says he will when they hit the palace tomorrow. Spectra then says tomorrow will not come sooner as he puts his mask on and ambushes the palace at night. After arriving, Zenoheld told Spectra he planned to crush him for good and he ended up battling Farbros for a second time. Farbros starts off using Twin Horn Pulsar and Fire Spartan. Helios however isn't effected by the fire and tells Spectra to punish Zenoheld for his arrogance. Helios uses Exceed Charger giving him more power than uses chaos power cannon to attack Farbros. Farbros uses Gallium Shield to block Helios's attacks. Helios then used Chaos Boost Cannon causing Farbros to go down then fly. Zenoheld then uses Ranzama Arrow causing Helios major damage. Helios uses the FARBAS D2 to heal while Farbros still attacks. Zenoheld admits he wishes Spectra could give him more of a challenge. Helios however is okay and mocks Zenoheld. Helios then attacks Farbros with it's tail and slams it down on the ground. Zenoheld then brings out the Assail System to let Farbros become Assail Farbros, causing Spectra to let Helios become his Maxus form. The two Bakugan end up flying and battling. Just when Spectra was about to lose, Rex Vulcan arrived and used Hammer Knuckle to save Helios. Helios then tagged with Vulcan and continued the fight. Both Maxus Helios and Rex Vulcan got strong hits thus making Helios the second Bakugan (after Hydron's Dryoid) that won against Farbros. Assail Farbros used Shiny Orichalcum and took out the mechanical Bakugan reverting Helios to his original state and knocking down Gus and Vulcan. Helios and Vulcan used Ragnarok Cannon and Drill Booster causing Farbros major damage. However, Clay told Zenoheld that the Alternative Weapon System was finally ready. Clay used the killer mode to fire at Helios and destroy the planet they were fighting on. Helios and Vulcan watched in horror as Farbros linked itself to the Alternative and knew this was going to be a tough fight ahead.

In All for One, he teamed up with the other Brawler's Bakugan and battled Zenoheld and his Alternative Weapon. He also used his Twin Destructor briefly before replacing it with Zukanator, which was able to generate enough fire power to blow a hole through the Alternative's hull, allowing him and Wilda to invade it from the inside.

In Final Fury, he takes Wilda on his back out of the Alternative. After the Alternative was destroyed, he bids farewell to Drago and says that they will meet again and hoped they would still be on the same side. Together with the rest of the Vestals and their Bakugan, they return to their home planet.

Weaknesses[]

Unlike other mechanical Bakugan, Helios MK2 has only one weakness:

  • FARBAS EM will not work against very powerful abilities like Helix Dragonoid's ability Galactic Dragon. Helios will automatically lose the battle because of his safety protocols. This was shown in Bakugan: New Vestroia episode 44, until round 2, when Helios removed his safety circuits, so it is highly unlikely he still had that weakness. In addition to that, his Power Level slightly increased, and was able to nullify Dan's Gate Card with brute strength alone.

Physical Game[]

Helios MK2 is exclusive to Japan. It was first released in Japan on October 8, 2010 in Pyrus in Entry Value Pack. It was later released in Pyrus (black as main color), Aquos, Ventus, and Darkus in Japanese Starter Pack: Evolution Kit 2 (BBT-07). These versions are all non-Battle Gear Compatible. Its G-Power in Pyrus in the BBT-04 Entry Value Pack, which has silver as its main color, is 540 Gs. The Darkus from the BBT-07 Special Evolution Pack C has 520 G.

Trivia[]

  • Helios comes from Greek mythology, from a titan who personified the Sun.
  • Darkus Helios MK2 is in Bakugan: Gundalian Invaders Darkus color scheme that is black, green, and yellow.
  • Helios MK2 is the first non-Gundalian Invaders Bakugan that can connect with Bakugan Battle Gear and the only one who does not appear in the aforementioned season.
  • He is the only Bakugan to change ball form, even slightly, without going through an evolution.
    • This excludes BakuMutants, whose ball forms temporarily change when they mutate.
  • He has double-jointed legs like Contestir, Titanium Dragonoid, Aranaut, and Cross Dragonoid.
  • The molds for regular and Battle Gear compatible versions of Helios MK2 are basically identical. However, the Battle Gear version is missing the springs that keep its wings from instantly falling down. This can easily be seen by looking at the back of the closed marbles.
    • This is not the case with the anime, in which his ball form changed significantly when he was made compatible with Battle Gear. Changes include the designs on his wings, the flaps in his wings opening from the outside instead of the inside, and the addition of separately opening arms.
  • Helios MK2 is the only Bakugan that broke a Gate Card with sheer force alone in the anime.
  • In Bakugan: Defenders of the Core, his ball form is actually Turbine Helios.
  • In the Japanese version, Helios had a habit of speaking in third person.
  • This is the only form of Helios that lost his first on screen Brawl.
