Etymology
The Han character in the Japanese name of Gren Dragaon, 煌 (On: kō/Kun: kirameku), means gleam. 'Gren' is derived from the Japanese for crimson, 紅蓮 (guren). 'Dragaon' is derived from the word 'Dragon' and the onomatopoeia for roaring, 'gao'.
Trivia
- Gren Dragaon was once named 'Flare Dragaon 2' (焔(フレア)ドラガオン2, Furea Doragaon 2?) tentatively.[1]
- Gren Dragaon's appearance does not change so much from his previous form, Flare Dragaon.
- Gren Dragaon's name is similar with the Japanese name of Titanium Dragonoid, Gren Dragonoid (グレン・ドラゴノイド, Guren Doragonoido?). Both Bakugan depict Dragon-like Pyrus Bakugan and are also the main protagonist of their respective series.
- in addition to the above statement GREN translates to crimson
- Dragaon is said to be Flame Aigle's older brother in the latter's product description.[2]
