Fire In The Sky is the first segment of the first episode of Bakugan. It was first streamed in the United States on Netflix on September 1, 2023 and first aired on September 23, 2023 on Disney XD. Prior to its official premiere it was streamed on Roblox on August 4, 2023.

The episode starts with Hammerhead fighting a Spider Bakugan. Hammerhead at first seems cornered, but then easily defeats the Spider Bakugan, sending the crowd into an uproar. After the battle, Dan and Drago are talking to each other about their upcoming match, when Tia Dee comes up to them and streams to her viewers about Drago, and pesters Drago, but then Dan intervenes and tells the viewers about how he and Drago met. In a flashback, it's revealed that Dan doesn't know what he wants to do when talking with his mom. Later, Dan hangs out with his friends, Mia and Griffin, at a park where Mia tells Dan that his Mom is right about him not being focused. Dan assures her that he is fine, but then Mia and Griffin make fun of Dan for forgetting his science test, but Dan states that his future will find him. The suddenly, dozens of fireballs come crashing down to Earth causing major damage. Dan, Mia, and Griffin run up to one of the craters caused by the fireballs, which surprises Dan. Dan goes up to the unknown object in the crater, then all of a sudden it pops up and transforms into an unknown creature (Drago). Dan awkwardly talks to the creature, which makes the creature asks if he is a robot. The unknown creature is confused on where he is at, and then Dan narrates how he believed they would automatically get along. All of a sudden, dozens of different creatures pop up and start fighting one another. The military and scientists all show up to stop the fight, and observe these unknown creatures. A few days after the incident, the mayor explains that the unknown creatures are known as Bakugan, and they were in the middle of a war with each other in the Vestroian Galaxy. Afterwards, the Bakugan became friends with humans, and Dan narrates how Drago and Dan started to hang out and do different things together. Dan narrates they love to brawl, and a flashback of a battle between Drago and another Bakugan, Ventri, is shown. A montage is shown of Drago defeating multiple different Bakugan. Dan then talks about Drago's rival, Nillious who is very strong. While Dan is still talking, Tia Dee interrupts him, and the announcer announces that the fight between Nillious and Drago is about to begin. Nillious tells Drago how long he has been waiting for their battle so he can crush him. Dan asks Drago why Nillious hates Drago, and he explains he has history with Nillious. He explains that Nillious was the one who started the war, and Nillious hated how Drago tried to stop him. The battle begins and Drago rushes in and attempts to punch Nillious, but Nillious ducks, and Nillious strikes back with his wings, knocking Drago back, then quickly whacks Drago farther away with his tail. Dan tells Drago nice job for purposefully taking the hit from Nillious so he can wear him out, but Drago says he is not trying to wear him out. Nillious starts to fly and goes straight towards Drago, and Drago stands back up, and flies toward Nillious, but Nillious grabs Drago's tail and constantly slams him down to the ground. Nillious says he will end this, and flies up. He heads straight for Drago again, but Drago hits him hard with a single punch, which shakes up Nillious, and then Drago once again punches Nillious knocking him down. The crowd cheers and Dan congratulates Drago for beating Nillious, but while Dan and Drago are distracted with the crowd's cheering, Nillious starts to get back up again and Nillious stats that it's not over yet. He charges towards and unguarded Drago, but Dan notices this, and attempts to guard Drago against Nillious. Drago tells Dan not to do it, and then grabs Dan and tries to protect him. But then Dan's eyes mysteriously starts to glow, and a mysterious card forms in his hand, which causes Drago to grow much bigger. With one strike, and gigantic Drago punches Nillious back into ball form, which shocks Dan and the crowd, but then leads to lots of cheers from the crowd while Dan and Drago are both still shocked at what happened.
